The facts without the fluff
We enjoyed our stay with amazing mountain views from our balcony. The fresh, made-to-order breakfast was really nice. Dining on the terrace was lovely, complemented by friendly, attentive staff. The hotel's historic charm added to its appeal, but the decor felt quite dated and could use modernization. Still, the ambiance was cute and cozy.

It was an amazing location really close to the slopes and Maennlichen. The staff were all well experienced, knowledgeable. My room was good-sized and had an exceptionally comfortable bed...

The place was spotlessly clean with a well-trained staff who are both fun and tremendously service oriented. The hotel was situated in the very central location right next to the Mannlichen cable car.
Didn't like the area, it was very basic.

The best is the view of the Jungfrau from the room. Waking up each day or spending the evenings on the balconies were inspiring. The hotel has an excellent view of the small farms of Weggen and the expansive view of the mountains and valleys! The location in the town of Weggen is also nice. It is a few steps from the train station and right on the walking paths.
The rooms need to be redone. They have stains on the wall paper, many of the bathrooms are very dark and need to be updated with fixtures that work. The breakfasts are weak, compared to the other places we have stayed in Switz. We went there for 5 days and had half board. Two dinners were sub par, one was ok and only 2 dinners were delicious and well presented. As I had read on other reviews, they even charge you for tap water during your dinners, no other place did this for tap water! It appears they are working with minimal staff to cut costs. During our visit, it appeared that 60% of the hotel was occupied by a large group from Japan. As a result, their attention was to meet the needs of this group instead of giving us the Swiss experience and foods that we expected.

The hotel staff were very nice. The restaurant offered a nice atmosphere and food.
The room was not as it appeared online. Very old, dingy, and the sheets were very stiff/uncomfortable. Compared to other hotels in this price range, the room was lacking.

The views from my room were amazing, and I loved relaxing in the sauna after a long day of hiking. The library was a nice surprise, letting me unwind with a good book while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. The breakfast service was a bit slow, but it didn't take away from my overall good time 😊

My prior visits were when prior owners there. Very warm atmosphere. Excellent food.
Mattresses were 'rock hard'. This interfered with sleeping.

We had an lovely family adventure exploring the fine hiking trails around the hotel, with amazing views of the majestic Eiger and Jungfrau. The staff was accommodating, even assisting us with our luggage, made getting around easy with three kids in tow.
My kids wished for a kids club or play area to keep them entertained during downtime.

The Staff were extremely pleasant, friendly and very helpful. Excellent breakfasts and as we ate there only one night we enjoyed our meal very much.
We found the lighting in the room was inadequate for reading in bed.
